- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon brown sugar
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Optional: 8 slices of vegan bacon, chopped
Instructions:
- Prepare the Cabbage:
- Rinse and chop the cabbage into small pieces, discarding any tough outer leaves.
- Sauté the Vegan Bacon (Optional):
- In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of vegan butter over medium heat.
- Add the chopped vegan bacon and cook until crispy. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

- In the same skillet, add another tablespoon of vegan butter.
- Sauté the diced onion until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
- Add minced garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.

- Stir in the chopped cabbage, liquid smoke, smoked paprika, brown sugar, salt, and black pepper.
- Mix everything well to combine.
- Cook Until Tender:
- Cover the skillet with a lid and let the cabbage cook for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- After 10 minutes, remove the lid and continue cooking for another 5-10 minutes until the cabbage is tender but still has some crunch.
- Combine and Serve:
- If using, add the cooked vegan bacon back into the skillet and stir to combine.
- Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.
- Serve warm as a side dish alongside your favorite main course!
Tips:
- For added flavor, experiment with different spices like cayenne or chili flakes if you enjoy heat.
